How do I transfer files in gaim?

I have searched already and can't find an answer to this. I have ports 5190-5200 open on my router, but can't send or receive files. Is anyone else using gaim able to send and receive files that is behind a router?

You should be able to send if you open the ports. To receive, the other person needs to open the ports.
