How do i transfer files from one pc to my other pc on the same network?

Both computers are plugged into the same router. I need to transfer files via cable to the other computer. What method should i use? I tried setting up a home network, but it says im not the administrator and dont have those priveleges to search in my workplace for other computers.

Well you need to make sure that your firewall software isn't blocking the other PC's on your network. You just add the range of IP addresses as "trusted".

You will need to share folders, or put things in the public folders so the other computers can see it.


Are you logged in under an administrator account?

If you have Zonealarm installed, best to disconnect from the internet, disable ZA completely, then try again.
Works for every network I've tried to do it on.
