how do i transfer file over home lan?

i have 2 computers connected to a router. they only share the internet connection. what do i have enabled to transfer files from one comp to the other? thanks

Go into network icon in control panel, make sure you have client for microsoft networks, file and printer sharing and a common protocol.. for both machines. Make sure both are in same workgroup with unique names.

Then go into windows explorer and share out what folders you want, both machines.
Then click on Network Neighborhood in Windows Explorer to see the shares.
You can drag and drop from there.

to share, right click on the folder, choose sharing.
