I would like to transfer all the contacts, emails, folders, etc to another computer that has MS outlook on it. I dont have an exchange server btw. How does one go about this?
you can network them and use the export feature. open outlook and go file\export.
or if you can't network them you can save the files directly to a disk or somthing and overwrite the ones on the new comp.
location:win98 - c:\windows\application data\identites\?(account name)?\ microsoft\outlook
winXP - c:\documents and settings\(user name)\local settings\application data\identites\???\microsoft\outlook
you need to have hidden files shown.
or you can tell outlook to use a folder of your choice for saving mail: open outlook then tools\opitions\matenance\store folder.make it easy to find and when you setup the new comp change the location too. then copy all the files over .
i hope this is clear enough , a couple of beers and it looks ok to me.........
