How do I tell what kind of memory to use?

I want to upgrade my RAM, but I have no idea what kind of RAM I should buy.

All I know is I have 256MB now, and AMD 1300 Athlon. I bought it about 6/2001. How do can I know which RAM to buy?

you can try googling it for a few memory reviews...

if you want high performance memory, look into Mushkin, Kingston HyperX, Corsair..

I have Kingston Hyper-X PC3500 and it's fantastic memory. runs at very high speeds and is perfect for overclocking. for non-overclocking just buying something like Crucial PC2700 will ensure stable reliable operation.

If you are still using SDR RAM, time to upgrade !
