How do I tell if my K6-2 450 is the plus or nonplus?

It should say if you run dxdiag and it will tell you your processor type. Or if you have sisoft benchmark it will also tell you.

I ran dxdiag and this is what it told me:

Processor: AMD-K6(tm) 3D processor, MMX, 3DNow, 450MHz

So I guess it is not the plus version. Shucks.

Can you see what voltage the chip is at? The + series uses 2.0 volts. regular k6-2 uses something higher, though I forget offhand.

The plus versions were touted by AMD as mobile processors. This is not say they can't or shouldn't be used on desktop systems.

I think it was for two reasons: 1) The .18 micron processor enabled both lower power needs leading to lower temperatures, and 2) the closeness to Athlon release, which was known to run hot (therefore no mobile proc w/ launch).

This has also made them harder to come by since they were all OEM. One of my systems has the 450MHz K6-III+ @500MHz which benchmarks faster than the PIII @ 500MHz I have at work.
