how do i tell if i have SLACR G0 Q6600 without looking at the chip

As the topic says, I already installed a Q6600 and after everything is finished I saw a site (I think it was Anandtech) showing that SLACR is printed on G0 chips. Is there a way I can tell from bios or a boot utility or even from within Vista which chip I have?

CPUID will tell you. Google it.

You don't have to look at the chip, you can just look at the box that it came in.

yes it'll say what stepping you have on the silver label on the box.

download CPU-Z, the newest version

See where it says revision on the program? If its says G0 its a SLACR.

Otherwise it will say B3 SL9UP

It was an oem chip so there is no box, but i do see in CPU-Z where it says revision G0. I overlooked it earlier. Thanks for showing me where to look.

I made a rig @ work that's SLACR G0 Q6600 -- I was surprised the temps were ~ 50C on load per core.

Wish I had that kind of luck
