How do I take screenshot from XVID ?

I want to take screenshots from movies/tv shows but they come out blank...

I'm using Mediaplayer10, PowerDVD, and Realplayer Classic.

K-lite codec pack installed. G-Spot render 'video source type' is "4cc: XVID"

I've tried ms print screen and IrfranView, but nothing shows up just the player skin around the 'screen', and of course nothing at all with 'full screen' selected.

How can I get screenshots from these and other types video files ???

Try these two ways (using wmp 6.4 -- start --> run --> mplayer2):

1. with wmp 6.4 open, go to view --> options. in the first tab "Playback" move the slider for Hardware Acceleration to none (since you're only taking screenshots, you don't need the performance). open your video and prntscn or alt+prntscn for just the window and paste into your favorite imaging program. move slider back when you're done.

or

2. with wmp open, open your video and pause it. open another instance of wmp and the video. do the prntscn / alt+prntscn from that second instance and paste in to imaging program.

Enjoy.
