How do I stop my games from being stretch to fit my LCD screen?

I know there's an option in the display properties somewhere but I can't find it. When I play games at a lower res then the native res, I don't want the image stretched to fit the screen. Can someone point me to where this setting is? BTW, this is for a Radeon 9600 with Cat 3.7's and Windows XP. Thanks,

Check your osd for an option for image size. Mine has a normal or full screen option. If yours has something you may have to set to a non native res. In order to select an option. If I run the native resolution the option is unselectable. But otherwise I can select full screen and have the image stretch or normal and get the black bars.

in the display properties, settings tab click the advanced button, then display tab (assuming you have the ati control panel installed). It should list all the monitors connected, click on the LCD and additional options should pop up.
