trust me, i've looked thoroughly and I can't find it. Either I'm blind and I need someone to point out the direct location of it to me, or its in a completely different location then from where I'm looking

<< uninstall cometcursor. >>

Short term solution to a long term problem. Im going to have to uninstall cometcursor every time i go to the site i want to go to. And eventually I will come across a site which will try to install some trojan software or porn crap or whatever

that's besides the point :D But honestly, sometimes you click on links to other sites and you have no idea what kind of pop ups they'll bring up. Other times you misspell a url and it brings you to a porn infested site :|

Yeah this wasn't a problem in Win2k when internet explorer was still 5.0. I've tried both the advanced section and the security section and nada

For comet cursor you might try this. It's for IE 5 but it shouldn't make any difference.

it installs itself. If i click on a link that downloads comet cursor for example, suddenly my icon changes and the comet cursor program comes up asking for some configurations

From the menu bar, select Tools and Internet Options. Click on the tab labeled Security. In the box below labeled Security level for this zone, click on the button labeled Custom Level..

For the first option to "Download Signed ActiveX Controls," select "Prompt."

It should ask you whenever CC wants to be installed.
