How do I stop Acrobat 6 from loading when I click on a web link?

I'm using Mozilla Firebird and every time I click on a link to a .pdf, Acrobat opens, and Firebird hangs. I opened Acrobat's prefrences and went to the internet options, and unchecked everything. I also went to webcapture, however it only gives you the options: Open weblinks: [In Acrobat] or [In Web Browser] :|. Does anyone know how to un-associate Acrobat from Firebird?

Edit: I know I can just right click and save as, but sometimes it isn't very obvious that the link I'm about to click on leads to a .pdf.

you can try renaming the plugin dll so mozilla can't find it... on my computer it's under acrobat install dir/reader/browser/nppdf32.dll, it might be under the plugin directory under mozilla too. rename it to nppdf32.dll.bak should effectivel disable it

Go to MSCONFIG and uncheck the Acrobat startup box. That kills it completely as a standby tool. Or, go into your Folder Options and change the file associations as you wish.
