How do I stop a Word document that is minimized from opening when I open a new one?

Let's say I'm working in a Word document and I've minimized it to the task bar. I then go into Windows Explorer and double click another Word document to open it. Currently when I do this the last minimized Word document will open on the screen and then the new document I'm trying to open will open on top of it. I hate this...I only want a minimized document to open if I click on it.

How do I stop minimized Word documents from opening when I open a new one?
