how do i setup news groups in outlook 2000/2002??

You don't.

You mozey on to Xnews and get the best free newsreader on the net. and Read the manual.

Yeah. Outlook Express is still the news reader for Outlook.

Add /outnews parameter to msimn.exe and you can use it as newsgroup-only.
