Hello,
This is for peer to peer. I have 2 NICs in one pc. 1 NIc is occupied with DSL modem and the other is free. The second Pc has a NIC. I dont have a HUB/ switch box but I heard you can use cable to connect them still.

What is better with hub/switch or cable? Also with cabling can i still share my DSL connection?

Thanks all....

I would think that a direct connection (cable) would be the fastest, follow by a switch, then a hub. To connect two PC's, you can use a crossover cable and plug them directly in the NIC.

If you plan on having more than two computers on your network in the future, I recommend getting a switch. The performance of a switch exceeds that of a hub by far.

Oh, also, when using a crossover cable connecting two PC's, you will still be able to share the internet just like sharing them when they are connecting thru a hub or switch.
