i started looking at a program called MailEnable. I am useing no-ip.org for a free domain name.

I ran a email server at my house for a while but since I was using SBC DSL, my emails I sent out were getting caught in SPAM filters because it was coming from a residential source. It makes since so I stopped it since i was in the middle of switching jobs. Just FYI.

Just be careful before you spend too much money - A lot of ISP's block e-mail to servers on their network which might cause it not to work.

well...fyi to all thanks for the repsonses, I was able to sucessfully configure and setup mailenable (www.mailenable.com) with my home ISP. I can send/receive mails ok for the most part, the spam filtering kicks in when I send to yahoo. Best part is didnt have to spend a dime! I used mailEnable ( freeware) and dyndns.org to setup a domain name to my home IP.
