how do I set up static IPs on my lan with a WRT54GS?

I don't even know if it's possible, but I have a Linksys WRT54GS and I want to give each computer a static IP address. It's a pain in the neck to foward ports individually all the time. Anyone know how to do this? And if the stock firmware doesn't support it, anyone know if Sveasoft's does?

Not sure on that router but usually you can go into the DHCP section and find a button for Fixed Mappings or Static IP or something like that. Then you can pick the MAC Address for each computer and tell the router which IP to assign to it. That's how I do it with my SMC router anyway.

Um, assign the IP's to your client machines. Your done. Actually you can almost certainly disable the DHCP service on the router or so as Frankly suggested and assign IP's in the DHCP scope if your router supports it. However if you just want static IP's then assign them. As long as they are on the correct segment then there is nothing really else to do on the client machines and you don't necessarily have to do anything on the router though you probably should just to avoid potential conflicts.

Are you talking about static LAN ip adresses or static WAN ip adresses? If you are talking about static WAN adresses, you would have to take that up with your ISP, as it would most certainly cost more to get more IP adresses.

static LAN IP addresses. Like, when I want to use DCC with mIRC, I have to manually go in and forward the port every time, because my computer's IP is different.

On that router if you go into the DHCP settings there should be a button or somethign about the Client List. Then in there you shoudl be able to specifiy a certian MAC address will always get a certain IP address. You still leave the PCs set to DHCP but the router will hand out certain IPs to certain computers every time.

I'd just assign them manually and turn DHCP off. Several reasons why, but for me it's about security and it's a step I don't need to take if I am trying to troubleshoot.
