How do I set up a NAS if I do not have access to my internet router?

I want to set up a NAS server but cannot hard wire it to my internet router because it is in a different room. So I just use it for wifi.

The NAS server I obviously want hard wired for speed. Can I have a second router? I'm not sure what to do.

No need for a 2nd router. Just get a Wireless AP + switch and then hook up your two computers via hardwire to the switch, and then link the Wireless AP to the router.

Head to http://www.ezlan.net/ and do some reading. The site is run by JackMDS and is EXTREMELY helpful for setting up home networks.

Are there any switches or wireless access points that are popular and work well?
