How do I set my monitor to only display grayscale in windows xp?

why? i think the only way you can do that is to change it under appearance. or just go to start->shutdown and wait for a few seconds ;P or better yet, buy an old black and white tv and retrofit a vga port on it.

Because I want to protest my company seizing my twin 17" CRT's for a 15" LCD based entirley on asthethic appeal

Why not ask for the monitors back? Or at least a second 15" LCD.

What did you have before, and do you need two monitors?

I don't think WinXP can do it by default. I know StyleXP or WindowBlind could create a theme in greyscale though.

ouch thats a huge downgrade 🙁

You would figure they would give you a 20" LCD to replace the dual 17" at least.
