How do I set how big a window opens in XP

When I click on say IE, the window used to open to fill the whole screen. Now it only opens to fit a fraction of that. How do I set this? Sorry if it's a dumb question but I never knew how to do this.

Short Answer: Don't know the answer you are looking for.
Long answer: My experience is that IE opens to whatever you closed it as last. It seems to work this way for all applications too. So, open an IE - maximize it - and then close it. I would check this, but then i'd lose all my windows 😛.

just resize the window to what you'd like it to open to by dragging the corner with your cursor, then close using the close X at the top while pressing ctrl!

The user has no way to set this.

However, many well written apps, and Internet Explorer as well, will save the window size and postition to the registry when you close the window, and read that back when you next launch the app and will put the window in the same place/size. It's something that programmers are kinda told to do in the better programming books.
