I am so flusterd right now.... I have Win2k on a CD (it is a backup) and I need to boot the computer and get it to run setup.exe. The boot floppies for win2k are giving me errors.

Can I boot to a dos floppy and then type e:\setup.exe (WHAT is the command?!?!) Please help!

my HD is formatted but nothing is on it..... I changed motherboards from Via to Intel and I am having trouble getting started reinstalling Win2k. I have the cd backup but can't even get to a prompt to get the process started...

Yes Windows 2000 should be boot from the CD, you may need to go into the BIOS and change the boot sequence. Change the first boot from floppy to CD-ROM.

Disk to disk copied win2k Cds are not bootable I believe. Follow the dos floppy boot method.

The Windows 2000 CD should be bootable, unless it's a poorly ripped copy.

Disc to disc copy - yes.

"Drag all the files over to a folder and burn" copy - no. 😛

DOS boot floppy, make sure to load SmartDRV first.
