How do I run separate instances of Prime 95?

It won't just let me put an -a1 at the end of the target line in the shortcut properties. I've tried renaming the program, etc. I have one instance open, click the other link, it opens another window, but then reverts back to the first instance. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Feeling like an idiot here..

Any help would be appreciated!

Make another copy of your Prime95 directory, rename the new Prime95.exe, and then run the Prime95s of the two directories.

even easier, search for Stress Prime 2004 - it's a program based on prime95 but modified to make it more user friendly. for one thing, all you have to do is open it up twice, set one core to '1' and one core to '0' and hit start. a big visual colored banner tells you what's going on - when the background is green, everything's going great; if it turns red, you have a hardware failure.

That link from guitardaddy seems to be the best. One program, stresses both cores.

Thanks!

Make sure it's a space, then -a1 after the shortcut names. I haven't used Stress Prime 2004 but some are saying it's great for dual core CPU testing.
