How do I run RC5 at work.

I have alot of computers just sitting around at work doing nothing. I was wondering what the best way to run the client without installing it on computers themselves. Can I run it off of a floppy? I also don't have internet access at work. Thanks and happy holidays!

Don't fear, The Reaper!

Even though the PCs don't have internet access, are they networked? If so, you could run a pproxy there and bring in the blocks on a floppy disk (which is exactly what I do). Running it off a floppy is probably possible, but installing it is so quick (and so is uninstalling) I would recommend that.

A pproxy (personal proxy) means you set up one PC as the mothership and all the other PCs get work from it and return the finished work to it. Then you can take the finished blocks on a floppy and flush them from your home PC.

Be absolutley certain to get permission to run the clients on work machines before you do it. It's distributed.net policy, as well as you run the risk of getting yourself in rather deep doodoo with your employer depending on their policies.
