How do i run multiple instances of a video player

It depends on the player. If the player is coded to only run single instance, you can't do much about it.

You likely can't. Try one of these instead:

VideoLAN (for Windows)
MPlayer (for Windows)

You'll probably have to right-click each file and select "Open with" (mplayer or videolan) to get multiple instances.
