This is on a work machine. I have a 16bit program (I believe) that will not install on a W2000 machine.
When I try to run the program a small window pops up with the heading of
16 bit Windows Subsystem
and within the box it says:
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows Application. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
with the two Close and Ignore buttons.
I researched Windows Virtual DOS Machine, (NTVDM) and it is installed and I tried to run it as a separate process, as described here:, but no luck.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
