While trying to get my new NIC working in linux I tried 4 different distro's last night......so I hosed my MBR

ANd now just want to get win2k back.

I used a win98 system disk to do "fdisk /mbr" but that didn't work.

I can't find my win2k CD to help me.

What else can I do?

Not much actually without the W2K CD, cuz what you're going to have to do is do a REPAIR on W2K and that will re-instate the Windows BOOT manager..the other option is to keep LILO running and then make it point to the Windows partition and that will also boot Windows..Regards

Wierd. Under NT4, I could restore it by using 9x's fdisk /mbr command. This doesn't work under 2K????

Boot off the win2k CD and select repair, then recoverey console. login. type (i think) fixmbr -- if not type help and one of those should work.
