how do i reset my password?

howdy
i am locked out of my computer account, to make a long story short, my son changed the password and WILL NOT TELL IT TO ME!
Is there any way to get/reset the password, preferably by a disk boot method since i cannot log in for anything (by the way, i use windows xp pro). Or perhaps does anyone know a good commercial program that i can "try" 😉 [morpheus]

There are password reset programs out on the net both free and commercial. Also helps to lock your machine when you are not in front of it, so things like this don't happen in the future.

What OS is on the system? Do you have access to any other admin accounts on the machine? There are ways of getting into even any box if it hasn't been locked down. You may not even need a utility to accomplish this. Beware that resetting passwords in some operating systems will lose your access to certain types of encrypted data. And, in the future, protect yourself.

With respect to your son -- are you kidding? Tell him that you made him, and you can unmake him! 😀
