how do i reset my CMOS settings?

You usually have to short out two leads either with a jumper or just with something like a screwdriver. If you can't find it in the manual then just look on your mobo for two leads with something like "CMOS reset" labeled next to it. You can also just remove your battery for a minute or so.

You can do it while in newer BIOSes. Look for something that says "Reset Configuration Data."

shut down computer
put rocker switch on 0
unplug cord from back
push start button for count of 8 to discharge caps
place CMOS jumper on pins for count of five
put jumper back on just one pin
replug cord
rocker on 1
start computer
immediately push delete to go into bios
use "set bios defaults" option
reset cpu settings

the thing with the battery, i did it this way though, it took a few hours for it to actually reset.
