How do i reset my bios i have a password

Im trying to kill my harddrive but somehow i have to access the bios so i can set my first boot device to a cd drive?

how can i get rid the password

Take out the CMOS battery and wait 20 minutes or something, unplug the computer from your power source too. I think that should work.

Re-setting the cmos rarely works.

question is, why are you trying to kill your HD? Easiest way to kill it though is to pull it out of the PC and throw it to the ground a few times and take a hammer to it
