How do I report phishing?

I got an e-mail from Washing Mutual. It says

Dear Washington Mutual customer,

We have noticed unusual activity on your
account. You need to verify and approve the charges
before we allow any additional activity.
Please follow the link below:

My parents nor I have an account or heard of it for that matter. So, I suspect that it's a phishing scam. I don't know how to report it. Anyone know how? I don't want other people getting burned.
 
The problem is, is that it's fairly easy to make email that's anonymous. It takes a large amount of work to trace it back to the source, and the source may end up being some guy that had his computer taken over by a bot.

Fight phishing by educating yourself and friends about it. If someone walks up to you on the street and asks for your credit card number claiming they're the IRS would you give it to them? I think not! Then why is it that when people ask for your credit card number in email claming that they're ebay, people fork it right over?

 
i get those all the time at my school email address. the only other type of email i get more of is the ones from nigerian royalty
