Oh it's going to be messy....

You basically have to rip them off the windows, and scrub off all the leftover glue afterwards...

Peel it off. You might start with a hair dryer to soften the glue. Now spray some ammonia on the glue and scrape with a razor blade. Its a nasty job.

a razor blade works well... you're talking about just the side windows, right? If you want to remove the rear window one, it's easiest to pay a place to steam it off.

If you put it on, then I can't help you. I had mine professionaly installed, so when it was time to take off, I just took it back to the installer. I think it took them all of four minutes to take it off both side windows, and they did it for free. So, whatever they did, it was fast! Maybe you could try calling one of those places and seeing if they can do it for you, or at least give you some advice. ;)

Just pick it until it you can get a grip then pull it off. It comes right off with a nice firm pull at an angle.

Have fun scrubbing the glue off the windows though. :)

I'm not sure that I'd be comfortable with using steel wool on glass. I think 00 would even scratch some, but maybe not...

You need a few (gollum voice) "thiinnngggss first... THINNNNGGGSSSSSESSSS!"

1. Razor blades
2. Rubbing Alcohol (mix a bit of alcohol and water into a spray bottle)
3. Old towels
4. New towel (to clean it when finished)

Use the razor blade to "peel up" the edge of the tint. Depending on the installer, you may have several layoers of tint to remove. Pull up slowly.
Once the tint is removed, the hard part is the glue removal. Spray the alcohol/water mixture onto the glue and slowly scrape with the razor blades.

Get some paint stripper. That works wonders, but you have to be careful not to let any spill on your door panels because it will ruin them.

It washes right off if you use that stuff. BUT BE CAREFUL!!!

I had to have mine taken off before. I just took it to any old window tinting place. They will charge you like $10-$20 to remove it for you, and most places will do it for free if you had it put on there.

I literally watched the guy do it, took him about 3 minutes. It probably would have taken me much longer.

Honestly, I would contemplate how much your time/energy is worth and would consider just taking it somewhere to have it done correctly. If you hose taking it off, you could literally turn it into an all day event. :)

Not for free if you paid them cash to do the illegally dark tint. Then you are on your own. They might do it for free if you pay them to retint it a legal tint, but, then you ARE paying them.

Wow that's pretty cheap, I tried 3 places up here and I got price quotes of $100 - $150.

That much? Dang, that's insane! Yeah, I had the super dark illegal tint put on mine, got a ticket and had to have it removed. I just picked up the phone, called a few places. Virtually every place said they would take it off for free if I had it done there, otherwise it was approximately $20. These guys do this for a living.. so literally it took them 3-5 minutes to remove. $20 for 5 minutes of work aint too bad for a pretty low-skilled task you would think.. but $150 for 5 minutes of time? Wow.
