I removed my Thermalright XP-120 and bent a fin. I am trying to remove the other one from my other computer. Whats the correct way of removing it without dmg to the heatsink?

heat it up with a hairdryer and slowly rotate slightly right and left to break stiction from paste while pulling up simultaneously (softly)

take out the entire contents of the motherboard and disconnect all wires. place it on a table

if you don't wanna heat it up, once the levers come loose, be ready to adjust the CPU lock to unlock and pull the entire thing out, the pins can bend if it's sticking onto the heatsink when you pull it out and the CPU release lever is still set to "lock"

then rotate the cpu left and right if it's sticking tight on the heatsink to get it off

thermal paste might be all over the pace depending on how much applied at the start of the installation and how warm it could be, so don't be careless and let it drip on your mobo
