How do I remove the water heat constrictor in new showers?

I know it's behind the handle, I think it's that plastic thing they use. Becuase if I push the knob in the direction of heated water I can get hotter water, but if I let it go it goes back to the "end." Is there anyway I can take off the thing that is consitrbiting my hot water?

It's winter here and I'm freezing 🙁 Need hotter water!

Hmmm, pics?

Perhaps you could close down the valve for the cold water a bit. Should be a plumbing access panel behind the shower diverter. Make sure the valve isn't leaking from the packing washer. Tighten the packing nut a bit if it does.

yeah, i dunno what that is. i know the shower heads have a plastic thingy to reduce water flow

Turn up the temperature on your water heater's heating elements. Most newer ones are adjustable and default to lukewarm.

How old is the water tank?

Check the heating setting & elements on the water tank, and check to see if there is any leak (damp or rust spot).

You might have one element that fail, therefore the water isn't reaching temperature.

He said there's hotter water available, but the handle keeps snapping back to the warm setting.

hmm wonder if mine does that. We just put in a new shower head and handle. I usually take lukewarm showers so i have never tested it.
