How do I remove the cover on the HP Jornada 540 Series?

A hammer perhaps? Sorry, I couldnt resist, I had so many problems with my 548. I opened mine up easily with a tiny screw driver.
 
what kind of problems did u have? i dont want to open it up, i just want to take the lid/cover off. the flap, whatever u may call it.
 
I would just pop mine off. If you apply a little pressure on the hinges it come right off. The problems I had were lockups and sluggishness. I traded for an ipaq.
