How do I remove "motherboard hardware" in windows?

Here is what I did:I built a NEW pc, and was having problems with the HD, on the new pc. Both pc's have epox mbs. The "older" pc has and 8kta3, and the newer one has the 8kha2+. I took out the hd from the old pc, and put it in the new pc, to see if the "newest" hd was the problem. (That was the problem, I had a bad HD, brand new) I took out the hd from the newest pc, and put it back into the older pc, and now it boots into "safemode". I've tried pressing F8 when the pc boots, but that doesn't seem to work.

The answer that I rec'd:Try removing and redetecting your motherboard hardware in windows

Are there any step by step directions on the net that I can follow?

Thank you for your time,
Raymond

Well if you can get into safe mode, you don't really need step by step stuff. Just right click on MY COMPUTER, choose PROPERTIES, click on DEVICE MANAGER then scroll down until you see SYSTEM DEVICES, that where everything is that you need to remove. Maybe that was too much guidance but i really have no way of telling what you know. (((EDITED for this add on))) Of course i am assuming you are using 95,98 or ME. You can also edit the registry, its been a while since i have done it but i know you have to delete the enum stuff, i just forget where i found the KEY for it, perhaps someone else knows.
