How do i remove CpuIdle?

ive tried and tried..ive uninstalled the program but my computer is still behaving like as if it is still installed. ie, upon the startup and the boot procedure is completed my system powers down a bit...ie the fan rpm speed drops..and it puts itself in that hlt mode.
