How do I reinstall Windows XP?

I don't know what's going on. I boot to the Windows XP disc and I'm going through the steps to repair my XP intallation and it askes me for a administrator password. I don't have a password set for my administrator account! What should I do? Help!!
 
I tried that. I also changed the password jumper on the motherboard and it still wants a password!:| I give up I just don't know what to do.
 
Are you trying to repair or reinstall??? If you're trying to reinstall you need to choose "New Installation" before you get to the screen you refer to.

Resetting your BIOS has nothing to do with Windows passwords.

Then your title for this thread is misleading.

Try as spoma suggested. If that doesn't work somehow you must have assigned a password to the Adminstrator account.

You may be able to reset the password using the method Saltin describes here. Then again I don't know how borked up things were to begin with that caused you to try a repair, so it may be of no use. This will reset the password back to what you originally chose as the password, so if you are mistaken about not entering a password it's not going to do any good.
 
OK, when you boot to the XP CD it asks if you want to reinstall or repair. I was selecting repair and that's when it would ask me for a admin password. Since that wasn't working, I selected reinstall and I ended up with another option to repair. This time it didn't ask me for a password. This seems to have fixed my problems but now my PC seems to be booting up slower and running slower in general. Thinking about doing a reformat and reinstall to clean things up. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for the help.
 
It sounds like there is something wrong there. Obviously without being able to see and know exactly what is going on it is tough to come up with any other solutions. Your best bet at this point is probably to do a clean install of XP. Do a format and start from scratch. Keep track of what drivers you put on the system so that you know if you run into a problem where abouts it came around. Good luck!!!
