How do I regain NTFS permissions???

Hey Everyone,

So my laptop kicked the bucket last week. I can't afford to fix it right now, so I got a $50 USB2 enclosure for the hard drive, which I must say works really well. Only problem I'm having, mostly with my personal files from the profile, is that I don't have the permissions to copy them! The laptop was running WinXP Pro on NTFS.

Is there any way, now that the hard drive is hooked up to a different WinXP Pro box, to reset the permissions so that I can bring them over? It'd take forever to do it one file at a time, but I need to get these over.

Any suggestions?

Thanx,
Jazzman

Bring up the security dialog on the top most folder and under advanced go to Owner. Set yourself as the owner and when you hit apply, apply the changes to all dirs and subdirs.
