How do I redeem my reward points for my Chase credit card?

I've got a bunch of points saved up on my Chase rewards card and I'd like to redeem them and use the cash to buy a motorcycle jacket.

I can't figure out how to redeem them though. I don't think it's automatic, because you can redeem them every 5,000 points for a $50 check, and I've had that many points ever since I opened the account.

Does anyone know? I was going to call Chase but I've got a head cold and don't feel like dealing with the customer service people when I can hardly talk.
 
Give me your credit card #, your DOB, your SSN, your full name, address, and the name of your first pet and I'll take care of it for you 😉

hmm..do all chase credit cards have this? i have a chase card and don't ever remember seeing anything like that before

Only certain cards have them. My particular Chase Mastercard has 5% back on gas, groceries, and drugstore purchases, 1% back on everything else. Since gas/groceries are about 75% of the things I charge, it's pretty nice to get 5% back on them.

I actually expect the 5% rebate to be reduced to a smaller percentage by the end of the year. I'm going to miss it if that happens, that's for sure. Most of the large banks are eliminating reward programs like that becaue it's expensive for them.
 
Ah crap, I was hoping to avoid calling someone if possible. If my head cold clears up later today I'll give them a call.
