How do I reassign an IRQ address for Sound Blaster Live value?

Today i purchase a HP Scanjet 3300Cse at CompUSA. I installed software and connected the USB cables, and it hangs when the scan process begins.

I suspect it doesnt work due to an IRQ conflict. Soundblaster Live, my network card and my two usb ports all share IRQ 11. IRQ 5 is empty and i would like to move Soundblaster Live there, it doesnt let me.

any suggestions?

actually that's normal at the start of the scanning process for that scanner. the freezing usually lasts about 30-45 sec then things go back to normal,is that correct?
you should move the sb live from its present slot to another as it would appear to be a shared slot its in at present ie that slot utilises the same irq as another slot.
 
You can force the slot the SBlive is in to use any IRQ in the BIOS. Look for PCI or peripheral setup. You also should be able to disable the parallel port and com ports if you don't use them. That way you can free up an IRQ or two if needed.
