Hello,

I'm building my first system from scratch and have purchased the following main components:
CPU: AMD XP2100 (Palamino)
MOBO: EPOX 8RDA
MEMORY: Corsair XMS3200 PC3200 DDR (512MB)
VIDEO: ATI Radeon 8500 (128MB DDR)

I'm trying to optimize this system for playing Mechwarrior4 Mercenaries online (I play competitively in online leagues). I have seen alot of posts about increasing the speed of the video card, but have no idea how to find out what my card currently is at, and what I can set it to, and how to set it.

I don't want to blow the card up from severe overclocking, but I do want to optimize the performance on it. Also, what should the AGP frequency be set to on the motherboard for the video card. My Mobo has a setting for it with the possible values between 50-100MHz.

Thanks in advance for your help

Try Rage3d Tweak over HERE. it will tell you what you are currently working at and will let you overclock.

As for the AGP speed. Normal is 66mhz but if you want, you can go higher and might get better results. Try it and if you do get more FPS then keep it there.

Good luck with you leagues!
