How do I put together a cpu and a fan?

Can anyone help me? Last time I bought a mobo/cpu/fan, everything came put together and I didn't do a thing. Now I bought a mobo/cpu/fan for a friend, and the fan isn't connected. How do I do this? The components are as follows: MSI K7T Pro, Globalwin Fan with heatsink, and a Duron. Anyone know of a site with pics that can show everything I need to do? Also, the "Read Me" card that came with the mobo says I need to use thermal grease between the heatsink and cpu. My question is what is thermal grease, do I really need it, and where can I get some?

Can't help with the fan installation other than I think the heat sink and fan connect to the socket and not the chip..I mite be wrong as I haven't messed with Durons yet...but to help you out with the thermal grease, you can get some at your favorite neighborhood Radio Shack..I just got some from their the other day.
