How do I put smartdrv.exe onto a floppy disk? Or how do I use smardrv?

You should get it off a win98 machine, I put it on a 98 boot disk and use it for 2000 installs.

smartdrv.exe is located in your c:\windows directory. Copy it to your boot disk and make an autoexec.bat on there also that has this line in it:

LOADHIGH=A:\SMARTDRV.EXE

then when you boot from the floppy it will automatically load up. It will help speed up disk transfers when you're in real DOS mode.

The command to load SMARTDRV.EXE into high memory is

LH SMARTDRV.EXE in the autoexec.bat.

If you are just using it to install Win2K, don't bother. Just type smartdrv at the DOS Prompt when you have finished booting from the floppy.

Typing smartdrv.exe is not necessary....smartdrv is enough.
