How do i play csgo in window and will this make my performance better?

For some reason when I play csgo on my laptop(a pos btw) its like either 20 fps or a solid 40. As one might expect, this makes it very difficult to play well consistently. I had a similar problem in overwatch and windowing it helped. Plz help me out. ^_^

It's in the video options.

You don't need to drop into window mode to get better frame rates, simply lowering the screen resolution and lowering the video effects will give you a better frame rate, go into the advanced vidoe options and start setting the options to the lowest, it wont look as good but will run much smoother.
