how do i place a golden orb upon a MSI slocket?

i just got a golden orb off someone and i have no idea how to place it upon my slocket.. it doesnt look like it will fit.
the golden orb has a big HS on it.

Hmm, you may have to modify your heatsink and your sloket. That's what I did to mine to make it work.

I attatched my golden orb onto the msi slotket quite easily... just be sure to twist it on (may require a fair bit of force, but ensures a good coupling)

i dont know the "proper" way to put it on but right now i can see that first of all there are some transitor like things that are making it so that the orb wont even touch the cpu. and then the HS is so big that it doesnt look like it will fit. i guess i bought the wrong golden orb. but i thought that they were all the same... ah well i guess this is a beginners mistake.

VTBigBear, we meet again. I also have a Golden Orb on a MSI-6905 slocket, and I have heard many horror stories about trying to fit these things on. Wierdly enough, I had no problem getting mine on. From hearing other peoples experiences, you have to set the slocket on something HARD and FLAT, say a table, and bend back the little plastic tabs on the heatsink of the orb. Then push REALLY, I mean REALLY hard. But not too hard. You know what I mean. Good luck!!!

i dont know how to say this but..
I AM AN IDIOT..
no wonder it wouldnt fit...
i thought that there was only one kind of golden orb..
didnt think about there being ones for athlons and for slokets and for slots...
guess what?? i got the wrong one, i have a 700e and i got the athlon by mistake.. DOH!
sorry ppl but i will have to sell this and get one for my 700
