How do I partition my hard disk in XP?

The installer does partitioning, as well as the disk managment applet in the Administrative tool section of the control panel

yeah, just boot up with the xp cd & you'll get the option to partition & format!
 
not that he needs to, it sounds like it's a new hard drive, but can't he also use a boot disk and just delete non dos partions ? if infact he already has xp installed and it is NTFS.
