How do i overclock my PIII 500E cpu??

I have a PIII500E pentium from DELL i got this january.
I have the mobo they sent me. and stuff.
how would i go about overclocking the chip??
or is it overclockable???

It really depend on the motherboard. Check thespecs if you can have other FSB. As far as the chip, most of them will do well at 112 FSB with the standard heatsink. If you're thinking higher, you better have a very good cooling. Goodluck.

As IsOs said, the 500E is usually a good overclocker. I have one running at 750 with default voltage. Your problem is going to be the Dell motherboard. I don't believe you are going to be able to increase your FSB, and any voltage adjustment is probably out of the question.

Yes the Dell mobo, and especially the emasculated BIOS will prevent you from overclocking your 500 PIII. Measure your case and ensure a newer BX- or 815e-based mobo will fit, then drop in a tweakable mobo, reinstall your cards, RAM, CPU etc, and you're on your way to probably 750 MHz.
