I'm bored and i want to try to overclock my computer.

I'm familiar with the basis of overclocking.
i'de just like to know what settings i physically change whether it be in the bios or on the motherboard to modify the fsb. My mobo is a tyan trinity 400 (s1854)
and i have generic pc100 ram, the cpu uses the slot 1 interface.

Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated

and if you are going to spring for a new motherboard, you might as well go for a new processor because that 600eb runs at a 133mhz bus, which means that you wont be able to fsb overclock worth jack

What the preceding replies mean is that: (1) most Tyan boards, while very high quality, do not readily facilitate overclocking, since they lack easy incremental FSB adjustments and CPU voltage adjustments; and (2) the P3 600EB, if that is what you really have, is meant to run on a 133 MHz system bus, and therefore is not so likely to overclock very much percentage-wise, since it is already at or close to the limit of the P3's capabilities.

Overclocking an Intel processor primarily involves increasing the system bus (FSB) or memory bus speeds as much as possible, while sometimes increasing the core voltage or adjusting the CAS/RAS RAM settings to stabilize the system. You will have to scour your manual and the motherboard itself to see if you can detect how to make these adjustments, if they are possible.

You might search the forums for "Tyan" etc. for info on overclocking those boards. Also see this to properly identify your P3. You have a very good platform with the S1854 and P3 600, so unless you really need the speed I wouldn't buy another system at this time, with so many new CPU and RAM developments on the horizon.
