How do I overclock my DDR memory?

imNAKED

Senior member
I currently have an Abit IT7 mobo running 512mb of PC3500. Can somebody tell me how to overclock my memory to run at 433mhz or above using Softmenu III. I will also need some explanation on what (Dram Ratio) does. I see this setting in my bios. Thanks for y'all help. 😀

there are two ways to overclock ram.
1.increase the fsb(increasing it also means increasing the pci/agp bus)
2.change the cpu:mem ratio.

ok,this is how it works.just say my fsb is running at 133mhz.then i set the ratio as 1:1
so the ddr ram is running at 133mhz x 2(ddr)=266mhz
if i up the ratio to 4:5, i will get 133/4 x 5 x 2(ddr)=333mhz
