HOW DO I OVERCLOCK A P4 2.4B GHZ PLEASE HELP....

what is the rest of your system? basically all you have to do is increase the FSB and (depending on how high you want to overclock) the voltage.

Soyo motherboard SY-p4I 845PE LITE/GEFORCE MX440 128 SDR RAM/512MEG OF RAM/ON BOARD AC97/ON BOARD 10/100 ETHERNET/56antec CD ROM/ 350watts ATX BOX/ KDS EXTREME FLAT MONITOR/LOGITECH KEYBOARD/MICROSOFT MOUSE ........... and i am saving up to get a 9700 or a 9800 pro. You guys talk about lots of stuff that i ain't got no clue about i have gone into cmos and i did get my cpu to run @ 2.8 and my ddr @2.7 v but i know i got to do more, my motherboard is very clockable i just want to make sure that i do it right! so i would appriciate all the info you guys can give me even on what is the best video card out there so i can get the best graphics when i play battlefield 1942.:confused:

I would try 150 fsb and a 1:1 (cpu/mem) ratio, if you're board is so equipped. Those settings should be pretty safe. If the system is unstable, bump the cpu voltage up by .025 volts from the default setting (which is usually about 1.47-1.5 volts). On some boards with an agp/pci lock setting, higher fsb is possible. If your power supply is generic as many are, your system may be less stable when overclocking. It won't hurt anything to try the 150 setting.
