How do I open a port?

The question in the title. I need to open a port, but I don't know how.

I have Firewall disabled and I don't have any type of anti-virus software. My Router is a Kozumi K-1550NR, in the settings I have these options:

Correct.

For example:

To "forward" port 80 (http/web) from the outside to an inside computer, you would put in these settings:

Internal Host IP Address: [insert your computer IP here]
Protocol: All
External Port: 80
Internal Port: 80

Thanks for the answers. I did what you told me, however if I check the port with a website like this or this one, it says the port is closed.

The same with uTorrent (this is why I want to open the port). Running the test tells me that the port is closed:

After you "Save", you need to "Apply" to make it work.

If it still doesn't work, you can enable UPnP and uTorrent will open the port automatically.

Actually, that "Apply" button it's for the "Items show in every page" setting.

Use UPNP. There are some minor security issues with using UPNP, but UPNP with a firewall running on your computer is still probably more secure than port forwarding and no firewall.

edit: MDNS-PMP does the same basic thing as UPNP, but doesn't have the security issues. I don't think your router supports it, though.

If you do, delete the previous port forwarding rule to avoid a possible conflict. This should work, though.

Did you check to make sure the port is also open in the Windows Firewall (or other firewall software if you are using something else)? It looks like you have the port forwarding set up correctly on the router, but the connection will still fail if the software firewall on your computer doesn't allow access to the port.
